Comedy Clubs

Comedy clubs are a place where all types of comics go to perform to local audiences in a small and intimate environment. Usually holding no more than a few hundred people at a time, comedy clubs are a great place to go to enjoy some local entertainment for a relatively cheap price. Expect to pay an entrance fee into the club. You are usually given a small sit down table that is perfect for cocktails and h'ordeurves. As you sit and enjoy your light snack, many comedians will grace the small stage at the front of the theater.

While most performances are usually done a large stage for live environments, comedy clubs integrate an intimate feel to the show by bringing patrons as close to the stage as possible. Comics are often just a few feet away from the tables and getting a seat towards the front of the club is great for spectating.

One of the most popular comedy clubs lies in Hollywood, California. It is called The Laugh Factory. Many famous comedians grace the stage each evening in a closer environment than they usually perform in. The club has been around for almost thirty years and is a great treat for anyone that is unfamiliar with comedy clubs

After the show is over, it may be possible to meet the comedians that performed, again adding to the intimacy of the evening. Lastly, it is considered rude in comedy clubs to heckle or comment on a comedians jokes during a stand up. While it may be apparent that it would be rude, many club goers still heckle and make remarks during a show. It is best to sit, enjoy, and save any comments you have for after their routine.

For anyone looking for an enjoyable, intimate evening, comedy clubs are the way to go. Nothing is more fun than infectious laughter and comedy clubs are sure to delight. But remember, crude and offensive language may occur during the evening so for children with sensitive ears, it may be an idea to find a babysitter for the evening.
