While in America though, it will be possible to get all types of tea in a tea room.
Originating in the United Kingdom, tea rooms are a cultural staple there and have since made their way around the world, to the far east and beyond. When visiting a tea room in the United States, you will most likely find the English style tearoom setup. Customers can expect to be served a hot cup of tea and milk in fine china, and a pastry of some kind. Bread and jam is common overseas but the type of pastry or baked good you receive may vary. You may receive, depending on the time of day, a meal to accompany your tea. Often called "high tea," it is a light meal that occurs before dinner and after lunch. Usually consisting of sandwiches, bread, and small snacks, high tea serves much more than a traditional sit down tea time.
Tea has been popular for centuries and there are plenty of people that still drink it every day. Considered a good source of antioxidants, tea is much healthier than coffee and a relaxing tea room in a nice, serene environment, may be the perfect remedy for a long day at work or hard day on the vacation trails.
