Bars & Lounges

There is no better way to socialize than in a bar or in a lounge. Often filled with people, bars and lounges are a great way to spend a weekend evening with some friends or to meet new people. Bars are places to go and get an alcoholic drink at an elevated platform with stools all around. While an actual bar is much more than that, the technical definition is the actual platform to obtain your beverages. Modern bars are full blown social events often having dance floors and space to move around and interacts with other people. Lounges are almost the same as bars except that instead of just having drinks, they provide a much warmer and intimate environment to interact with your friends and acquaintances. Instead of bar stools, lounges usually feature a wrap around seating area with plush fabrics all around.

Bars have been around since the beginning of time but only recently have they begun to be a socialite's dream. Now they usually feature big screen TVs with sports games playing, food to go with your drinks, and sometimes live music playing to help the patrons relax. On a Friday or Saturday evening bars are jammed with people ready to have a good time. Drinks can be costly so be sure to bring enough money to hold you over for the evening. Depending on the type of alcohol you drink and the time of evening you go, drinks could be upwards of $5 a glass. Bars have gained a bad reputation as places for drunkards to roam, but in recent years the bar scene has boosted itself to a higher level with much more going on than just people there to get a buzz from the alcohol.

Those looking to spend a bit more money though will enjoy the idea of a lounge. Lounges are a more upbeat version of a bar with nice furniture and music for their guests to enjoy. In big cities such as New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA, more often than not celebrities will go to lounges to enjoy a more prestigious lifestyle.

Whatever your reason for going to a bar or lounge, be sure to bring enough money as drinks and entry fees into these establishments have gotten steep. Also, be sure to drink safely and never drink and drive. Attire for these places varies from place to place but it really doesn't matter what you wear. As long as you're comfortable and ready to have a good time, that's all that matters.
