Since it has been founded in 1919, Pebble Beach is known as a luxury golf destination, on which the pro golfers and celebrities often set their choice when they want to unwind. This challenging course was designed by famous experts Jack Neville and Douglas Grant to snake around the notched Northern California coastline and thus provide the exciting views of Monterey Bay. The first two holes are found inland, the third will take you toward the ocean and the next two ones will run along the scenic coast. The eighth hole is located at the elevated tee. The player is to hit straight out toward the heavy Pacific Ocean, and the breathtaking foreground here features nothing but ocean waves. In this course the last two holes do not return you to the clubhouse, unlike in the most modern golf courses. It makes no wonder that the Pebble Beach is the permanent host to numerous world-class golf tournaments, such as the U.S. Open and the annual wide known contest AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.
