Alcohol in USA

According to Federal Household Survey, 48 million Americans have used alcohol at least once a week. However, the USA operates fairly strict laws governing the sale of alcoholic beverages. But from state to state, these laws are different. In New York, they may only sell liquor in liquor stores that are licensed. In grocery stores you can only buy beer. To sell alcohol to anyone under 21 is illegal. If you want to drink in a restaurant make sure that they are licensed to sell alcohol by looking for a "licensed" sticker. Many places do not allow you to bring in your own outside liquor unless it is within a bottle.

On the streets, alcoholic beverages (including beer) can be used only if you place the bottle in opaque packages. Also, it is forbidden to keep open bottles of alcohol in your car. Violations of these rules are punishable by a fine. The amount which you will pay is much greater than that of in Russia, so it is best not to violate.
