Grand Canyon

Situated in Arizona, the Grand Canyon National Park is undoubtedly the most famous natural reserve area in the United States at 1.2 million acres. The Grand Canyon is still one of the most unusual phenomenons, whose complete geological origin is yet to be fully understood, even though it has been studied extensively. Its geological age can only be determined from by its diversity of rocks and caves that contain a wealth of geological, biological and archaeological material. The Flora and Fauna Reserve includes 1500 species of plants, 355 species of birds, 89 species of mammals, 47 species of reptiles, 9 species of amphibians and 17 species of fish!

The Grand Canyon is actually a gorge in the Colorado River and this park covering an area of 4927 square, provides the tourist's immense opportunity to behold nature in its inspiring yet varied characters. It is home to many geo-morphological structures like plateaus, valleys, lava flow assemblages, waterfalls and of course, the vast undisturbed forest that are habituated by many diverse groups of flora and fauna. The many caves here bear the stamp of bygones eras in form of fossils and animal remnants. The whole park is an example of the perfect yet delicate ecosystem, as many endangered species of animal and plant are found here.  

The rugged terrain of the park is one of the ideal places in the world to go on hiking throughout year. There are also many camping sites in the area. Guides also take travelers on the trailing tracks.

The Grand Canyon National Park can be accessed through the Arizona State Route 64. Most of the visitors view it along the South Rim that includes the Hermits Rest, Grand Canyon, which nestles the headquarters of the park and the Desert View. The North Rim is situated at a much higher altitude and is located in rugged terrain that provides lot of thrills to the adventurous people. But the Inner Canyon is a popular destination for the hikers and runners. Tourists also go on go river tips, scan the area riding on mules. Many people also cross the Grand Canyon along the South Kaibab Trail. This 34 kilometers trail passes through a narrow foot bridge above the water. You can also go driving road through the Navajo Bridge.
