For Americans, the power of love in most cases is unable to break down class and racial boundaries. They prefer to choose a life among their own social group. For example, in 2000, 69% of U.S. residents with higher education created families with people that had similar education levels. With regard to racial differences, the majority of Americans choose their life partner that has the same skin color as them. But America is still one of the leading countries in terms of interracial marriage.
