Florida is the 27th state of the United States (1845). It is located on the southeastern coast of the United States. The name of this place is much older than the state itself - the word «Florida» means «Flower Easter», and it was named during the Easter of 1513. The flag of Florida, adopted in 1899, depicts the state seal, which symbolizes the sun, flowers, rivers and lakes that are rich in the area. The flower of Florida is considered to be Citrus sinensis, or orange. In general, this state has interesting characters, such as orange juice and a panther (this symbol was chosen as a student ballot in 1982).
Florida is also called «The State of Sunshine» ( «Sunshine State»). In Florida, the most famous of all the state mottos: In God We Trust!
The main economy is tourism in Florida (of course) and the cultivation of citrus fruits.
