Iowa attractions are as much about Arts and Culture as is about Shopping. In other words, you have a wide menu to choose from when it comes to attractions (History, Tourism, Local Cuisine, and Sports, for example). Events

Iowa offers colorful festivals and events all year round. The Scandinavian Days is about celebrating the Scandinavian culture with music, parade and lots of craft show. The Hispanic Heritage Festival is about celebrating the Hispanic culture with Pinatas, Mexican food, music and craft. The Glen Miller festival is about big time fun and frolic that features music, parade, presentations, food and craft shows. The Lewis & Clark Festival is about recreating the situation when Lewis & Clark visited the area. Buckskinners play a big role in this event. Burlington Steamboat Days are about a lot of music, accompanied by musical instruments.

Food & Drink

Iowa has a rich history and tradition of producing world class wines. Many of the wineries in Iowa have won awards for producing one of the finest wines. Just about all the regions in Iowa have the wineries that use time tested and proven methods in producing wines.

Sports

Biking and Trails are the best known sports activities you can perform in Iowa. The streets and terrains all facilitate cycling activities wonderfully. There are a number of biking trails in the state which are Raccoon River Valley Trail, Rolling Prairie Trail, T-Bone Nature Trail, Chichaqua Valley Trail, and Prairie Farmer Trail. The specialty of these trails is that these are multi use trails that enable you to do biking, cycling, and other outdoor pursuits.
